The less expensive versions use particle board. These cost more to produce using MDF since it will last a lot longer than particle board. The advantage is that our unit can handle more power and will last longer; these subs can take a real beating! The other difference is the build quality. We are using a real true pro audio subwoofer in the cabinet that has very large 2.5" voice coils and a 60 oz magnet, whereas off brand names use a magnet half the size of this and a smaller size voice coil. To utilize the proper amount of adhesive, solder, etc., we go above and beyond. Many off-brand name alternatives fail because of subpar glue or solder. Before we begin our mass manufacturing, our organization conducts rigorous testing for sound quality and tuning. Finally, to make sure the quality is on par with the original samples we engineered, we send one of our own technicians to the factory to inspect at least 15% of the production models.
