High-Speed Steel, 5/8" Bowl Gouge (1/2" Flute), HTT-102, Hurricane Turning Tools

In one of the largest turning tool factories in the world, the Standard Series tools are made from High-Speed Steel to our specifications and have been heating treated for excellent performance under the demanding conditions of woodturning. Although they are made for beginning to intermediate woodturners, they are also fantastic for seasoned turners looking for a high-quality HSS tool at a competitive price. In comparison to carbon steel, our Standard Series will last 8 times longer between sharpenings and has excellent edge holding capacity. Each type of tool's appropriate length handle is pre-fitted with them. Hurricane Tools have extra long handles, some as long as 16 inches, in addition to the premium steel. 

For excellent results, we advise using CBN grinding wheels. It might be a good idea to buy several of the same kind and alter the shapes/grinds to suit various woodturning applications.
